Our Resort

At Chantaramas Beach Resort we try to look after the local environment of Koh Phangan Island by reducing our overall carbon footprint of the resort with various green activities and procedures. By reducing the use of plastic bags, especially avoiding single-use plastic, we use plastic at least a few times before we dispose of it and separate all the resort waste. We have a ”Zero Waste” concept at Chantaramas Beach Resort where all leftovers from our kitchen are composted into compost (Compose Bins) you will see these compost bins within the resort, around the resort walls and in the resort garden areas. We also add nutrients to the composted soil to adjust the soil conditions to help make planting trees greener and healthier around our beach resort.

Chantaramas Beach Resort is proud to be part of the Gulf Island Living and Carbon Reduction Scheme by Eco Thailand – Can you be Carbon Conscious?. EcoThailand (นิเวศวิถี) is a not for profit NGO, with Thai registered Charitable Foundation Status, based in Surat Thani province Thailand. We have a strong Environmental and Community focus and are active on Koh Phangan, Koh Samui, nearby Gulf Islands, and the provincial Southern Thai mainland, including Surat Thani, Nakhon si Thammarat and Phuket.

Every year local businesses, schools, organizations and individuals join with EcoThailand Foundations sponsored TGO Low Emission Support Scheme to implement, extend and quantify their carbon reduction activities, ranging from solar power alternatives to waste segregation, recycling and biowaste composting, so gaining Thai government certification at zero cost.

The 4 Beagle Family are our famous welcoming committee here at Chantaramas Beach Resort. The family consists of Shetti (the father), Heartbeat (the mother), JJ (the son) and Milly (the daughter), our resident Beagles who are always on hand around our reception area welcoming new and old guests alike.

A note to guests, if you see our Beagle family please don’t offer food as they are on special diets that complement their breed and healthy living in humid locations.

Our famous Beagle family are always available for Social Media photos and videos with all our guests. You can always catch them roaming around at sunset time when they gather for the fresh sea breeze when the sun goes down on another day in paradise at Chantaramas Beach Resort.
